I just use one of these with a couple of 100-foot RG cables and move it to where it works best...
Did this for several years until the NATL BROADCAST Network came out with Digital TV a few years back. Now we just use our BATWING antenna to pick up the HDTV signals from the local towns... They work great for us now... Don't have to bring along our SAT TV items anymore...

I have wondered about this myself. I can generally find something to watch OTA. Not my favorite show or tonites sporting event., but something entertaining. Some shows worse or older than others but always something. I stopped carrying my Satellite as well.
But for those of you that still carry a manual satellite dish. Do yourself a favor and go automatic! It's just more hassle free.
For me the manual satellite was too much hit or miss. Generally I was always able to get it done but sometimes it took lots of effort.
Skip the effort paet go automatic
I guess I don't see the relevance to these posts. The OP was not asking how you set yours up. I was going to try something like this but my RV moves around when we walk around inside and did not know how much that would affect the aim.
Also, I can buy a lot of beer to drink while setting the dish up with the money I didn't spend on the automatic dish.
