Thunderbird is quirky, for sure.
It's possible that she accidentally marked one of these emails as "junk". Or, that T-Bird somehow thinks it's junk because of the URL links, or the number of links in it, and it is trying to prevent you from getting scammed or phished.
Try going to Tools, Options, Security, and browse the adaptive junk filters "show log" for anything that looks like the emails in question. If it's in there, she'll have to tell Thunderbird it's not junk, and that might fix it. I think you can reset all the adaptive junk filters by clicking the "reset training data" button. That might also fix it.
