I dont know how elaborate a smartphone you have or want but I have a Motorola G4 play, If you get it unlocked from Motorola or another source (Amazon for instance) you can get a sim card for any carrier, Verizon, ATT T-Mobile, whatever. The phone operates in both GSM and CDMA systems. And by ordering from Motorola direct you get less crapware, the stuff that junks up and slows your phone. It's still a android system and all feature are still functional such as wifi hotspot and tethering.
