Windows updates don't destroy wi-fi cards or motherboards.
I wouldn't be too sure about that. My computer was working fine the night I left it on. It turned itself off and the next time I turned it on there was no WiFi. Nothing I did, or the computer tech did, would fix it. It would go online via ethernet cable but not with wifi. As I mentioned earlier, this is the third computer that has not worked after a Windows 10 update. Two of them I was able to fix after about 2 days of trying but not this time.
Perhaps it was just a coincidence that it broke the night I left it on. Perhaps in my subconscious I wanted an Apple computer. Who knows, but after three strikes, I was out on the PC?
Typing now on my new MacBook and so far am doing fine and loving it. Way different than the PD but not that difficult to learn so far.
