FIREFOX Ver 30.0 -PROBLEM SOLVED

As with most software, leave auto-update off. Set Firefox to update only when requested. This way you can hear about the issues with new updates on forums like this one before you go for the update.

So after seeing this post and that the problem with the update was not experienced by others I just updated to FF30. So far, so good!

That will work. CCleaner won't delete passwords by default. Just don't checkmark the option to enable it to do so.





You may want to add this extension Click&Clean which allows you to clear cache, cookies, and other browser properties with just one click. Make sure to exit and restart Firefox to finish the task.

You just need to click the TP icon. Sorry, not my idea.

Thanks guys - I cleaned out the cache and extra files and that cleared up my problems...

I did this from the FIREFOX TOOLS side of FireFox. Didn't have to run the CCleaner program... That may have scrubbed some of my BANK PASSWORD sites so glad I didn't have to do that.

I am running FIREFOX 30.0 now and so far things all look the same as with Version 29.0...

WA8YXM - I have about 10-12 TABS saved for going to all of FORUMS, RADIO SCANNERS, and WX things... Pretty neat and easy to use setup... I will be very glad however to get my TWO DELL M90 workstations on WIN7 PRO. I know what those guys will do haha... Waiting on more funds before Momabear will let me spend some for WIN7 OS software.

My daughter goes nuts when she comes in here to see my two 24-inch monitors all loaded down with things...

Get new, Firefox 2 reloaded.
Tabs are BELOW the address bar,, I still have a few issues but it's way better than the Default.

An easy way to do this automatically for all your browsers with one click is by using the Free CCleaner.

Thanks WIZARD - That what I want to do to see if I can get back to what I had. I know nothing about these WIN 7 machines... They like to do everything for you and keep you in the dark I think...

I will clean out the cache after this bad boy storm gets past us this after noon. Might see some winds up to 60MPH here in a few minutes from now so they say on WX channels.. My radio/computer room has already switched to battery/inverter power hehe...

the update to 29 caused me problems, it got real SLUGGISH and unresponsive on Win8
other people had problems including a friend of ours
i uninstalled it and installed Ver 25
everything is running well right now
i did the same for our lady friend

this website was clean when i used it and connected directly to mozilla.org for the old versions
be careful be sure you are down loading a multi megabyte firefox file
and NOT a KB installer pkg
which will run and install "crap" on the pc while installing FF

example FF-25 is 22.22 MB

1492 - What I am seeing with this firefox version is like on facebook all of the pages are lined up like a data file starting on the left side of the page.

Like I was writing-up a text file.

It reminds of a text file more than anything else.

I saw this once before and I rebooted the WIN 7 and it was ok after that???

strange enough the RV.NET looks the same here but facebook and three or four other items I have in my TABS end up looking like text pages...

My IE browser doesn't allow me to save my photo links when I click on a google search program. With FIREFOX and CHROME I have the option to COPY IMAGE URL...

I have 99% of the photos I like to send folks on a GOOGLE SEARCH page which all I have to do is mouse click them and COPY IMAGE URL then post in the photo image maker to post photos here. For some reason I can't do that with Internet Explorer for some reason. I can save links here and there but none are the actual photo itself.

Last night internet was off here for several hours when I got up this morning I found the FIREFOX had been upgraded over night haha... I have since then re-installed VER 30.0 so don't suspect I have lost some data...

On my XP I could remove a program like FIREFOX and it would revert back to the previous version. I couldn't do that here on WIN7 so far...

I'm using Firefox v30 on WIN 7 Pro right now with no issues at all.

Is Firefox v30 working normally on other sites, but not on this forum? If so, then clear out your old cache and cookies, and see if the forums are working normally?

If all websites are not working, then it could be due to a corrupt Firefox profile. Did you ever back this up? I have mine setup to auto backup Firefox profile at least once a day using third party sync app.

If not, then create a new profile and see if Firefox works normally. Hold down Windows Key+R and in RUN, type or copy and paste Firefox -p and ENTER. Follow the instructions to create new profile.

I have been using Firefox before most people could even spell Mozilla. Every update took more and more memory till I finally got fed up. I am now using Chrome and am happy as a clam. This old computer is now running as fast as new.
