For those that resist giving up their flip phone...

No phone - smart or not - must be answered. That is a mental thing. My iPhone puts calls direct to voice mail between what hours I choose for what callers I choose, won't even ring. With 128 gig on iPhone 6 and replacement sd storage on many androids you are not any more likely to run out of storage than any other device. The advantage of a device that is always with you is pretty obvious versus the device at home. Many cheaper versus one more expensive is a personal choice I guess. A waterproof case fixes the creek issue unless it's the Columbia river.
