As a 2 DIN Pioneer owner - I agree. Even though my Pioneer is wonderful, Apple would make it more wonderful & I'd be the first in line to buy.

Personally, I believe that is the question. If apps are an important consideration, though I have to believe many use their tablets and smartphones primarily for web surfing, email, or as an e-reader, then it comes down to which OS platform has the apps one needs. And the reason I don't own an iPad. But use them at work as professional apps I need are only available on iOS.

For myself, I own a couple of Android tablets, and have found more apps, a larger number of which are available for free on Google Play than on Apple iTunes, that are relevant to my personal needs. Not to mention the hardware costs being substantially less.

Cook is a good CEO, but (and this is opinion here), he is no Steve Jobs. Jobs was always a business starter, Cook, even though he is the head guy, is still an employee. It is a different mindset.

Will that mean Apple has seen its zenith? Probably not. However, Apple needs to have better press for iOS 7 than the fact that it will have fewer skeuomorphic features.

Of course, there is wearable computing. However, there is one market Apple really needs to step into, because it is just plain stagnant: Car audio. Even thieves are not bothering to yank radios out of vehicles these days, due to the fact that most won't work if power is turned off. If Apple could make a 1 or even a 2 DIN audio head with storage capacity and other features, they would send Alpine, Sony, and the other people heading for the hills.

I digress and almost on the verge of hijacking this thread. As for what Google can do to keep competitive, the one thing that would be nice would be the ability to sync music. I rip a CD onto one machine, then it can automatically download to devices. Same if I buy a song on Google's store, it gets saved to the music stash on my desktop PC automatically.

I have a feeling we are going to be dissappointed on the phone front..I can't see apple skipping their routine incremental update (iphone 5s) this go around.

I bet the big news will be in wearable tech.

I find it funny that apple has already announced they are going to a more flat OS (similar to google).

I think it'll be the next release (not today, but next year), that there is a groundbreaking change from the standard apple releases. That's enough time for the new CEO to design/make his mark.

Honestly, you are paying the "apple experience". Which at the end of the day, you are basically paying for apple to review/check each and every app.

Most apps are now available on both OS, and if not, there's a comparible app by another name.

I wonder what potentially game changing stuff Apple is announcing today. Apple is going to have to announce something groundbreaking, as they have been having things slip. Other than incremental CPU advances, there isn't much the iPhone 5 improves over the 4, other than more anti-jailbreak measures. Even with fit/finish, HTC and Samsung are starting to catch up, especially with CNC machined aluminum cases that don't feel cheap.

All and all, I have an iPad, and a Nexus 10. I much prefer the N10 over the iPad just because I don't have to jailbreak it for functionality like finding the best wireless channel for signal, transferring files, and other tasks. If I'm on my laptop, I can even ssh or vnc into the Android tablet to grab something, should it be needed.

I will say that iOS is far better at music syncing. I've given up on it with Android, and probably will end up buying an iPod Touch just for playing via Bluetooth. With iOS, it is "buy once, play anywhere". Ironically, apps are less of a headache on Android, since I can log into my Google account, see my devices, then install/update/remove apps from each device from there.

For a lot of purposes, it is like Ford versus Chevy, but the reason I prefer Android is the fact that I can use the device the way I want to, not the way some CTO's vision dictates, and only his way.

I think the questions Pulsar is asking are relevant. I can't say the point about 75% revenue is accurate but I do know that the Apple store does generate more revenue than the Google Play store. One of my hopes is that, due to the increasing market share for Android, that this situation will change.

Do apps from the Apple store cost more than apps from Google Play? Apple charges a premium for their products (many customers happily pay that premium) and enjoys great profitability because of it. Is it the same with Apple apps, is there an associated premium in the pricing of Apple store apps as opposed to Google store?

I suppose malware is something to consider. Personally, I have been using Android devices and downloading apps from Google Play for at least 4 years and have never encountered any malware and don't currently run any kind of anti malware apps on my devices.

Each of us choose which side of the fence we are on, I'm not trying to argue which side is best. I'm on the Android side so naturally I want to see it grow and expand.

One other thing to consider, I know alot of people that share itunes/gmail accounts (ie share apps). So does that number include each device or one download per account (maybe I missed this somewhere)? I personally have 1 ipad, 2 ipad mini's, three ipods, and one iphone being used (two sitting in the basement with smashed screens). They all have the same apps downloaded (even though some devices aren't being used).

I find it more interesting that apple was leading for the longest time, even though there was more android devices.

Any one else interested if Apple has something new being announced today (I mean aside from a iphone 5s).
