when driving I don't want to hear chatter on my CB. If I do hear it it is probably bad news. what I do want is the ability to ask for directions, travel issues, wrecks, etc. my CB serves me well for doing that and better than a "magic" phone.

You must have a "magic" CB to be able to FIND ANYONE to answer your calls for help and information..
I have many, many miles and many many hrs under my driving belt an NOT ONCE was I ever able to get ANYONE to answer me.
As I and several others have mentioned, not many truckers out there now days even have a "magic" CB in their trucks. And those truckers that might have one typically will not have time to bother rendering much assistance as they ARE working and you become a distraction..
I am glad you feel your CB "serves you well" but I am not in a 1970s dreamy trucker movie like apparently like all dihard CBers leftover..
It is a dead product, it is dead and never coming back to life, bury the obsolete and dead CBs. Encouraging newbies into wasting money on a totally dead product is doing a huge disservice to those folks.
I have a Ham friend that was given a dozen used CBs, they all worked, he put em on Ebay, not ONE hit, nobody looked.. Couldn't even sell all of $10..
Time to move on, 10-4 good buddy?
