GPS / CB Choices
I need a GPS and a decent CB radio... So I need advice. This past week I drove from CA to AR and back in 5 days. CA to AR was done in a rental car and AR to CA was done in a small Class C motorhome...

I no longer hear much on 11 meters (CB) but on rare occasion it was a real "Saver" Oh I went with a top end Cobra. kind of hard to beat.
Years ago with a high end Realistic (Radio Shack.) I was east bound headed for home on what turned out to be black ice (Wouszer) Well the CB told me of an Semi napping in the road ahead (on it's side) so I decided given the distance to SLOW DOWN!!!!!! Ended up in the middle of a previous 4 car fender bender. two totaled and two limped to the next exit.. I was not involved but having a big Dodge maxi van did provide shelter and transportation to the victims.
Had it not been for the CB I might have been "involved" as more than a good Sam.
More recently (This time with the cobra) I heard of not one but TWO fatal accidents in the road ahead.. Noticing an exit with a Wal-mart and A truck Stop I hit ye old turn signal and got to the top of the exit ramp just as police closed the entrance.. Dinner. A comfortable night's rest. Breakfast and the road was clear in the AM.
I've been routed around an over turned truck or two as well since then.
Though I hardly ever touch the mic.. Glad of it in the rig I was.
