Ground plane for magnetic antenna

I have the older Wilson sleek cradle working with my Verizon MIFI 3GB unit more than my cell phone... The cradle allows our mifi unit to work well giving our tablets a wifi signal inside the truck when traveling down the road...

When in the POPUP trailer I have a spot up behind the valance curtain that goes around the whole ceiling where I have access to 120VAC receptacle. This is where I have my second older Wilson Sleek mounted to be a docking station so to speak for the Verizon MIFI unit inside the trailer. Battery gets re-charged here...

My POPUP roof is vinyl with foam under that. I set my WILSON OUTSIDE magnet antenna on a metal side strip on the roof edge... This is temporary as when in travel mode the MIFI unit is with us in the truck.

Great having Internet anywhere Verizon works which is pretty much everywhere... The WILSON SLEEK was a great setup for us for the MIFI unit.

I riveted a piece of galvanized (and painted) sheet metal to the top of my AC shroud. Works great and gets it up higher (height is your friend).
FYI. I snaked the coax in through the AC unit, through the roof framing and over to the amplifier location.

Not all that large, one wave length is enough. A ft across should do it.
