Wireless can be well secured, if the ISP supplied modem doesn't have wireless security available disable it on the modem and place a good router with very good wireless security features. We have gone right to MAC address filtering.
Perfect! I agree.
Wireless can be protected in several ways far more than you and I can visualize. This becomes even more popular with the inception of the 64-bit processors. Although 64-bit is primarily aimed at better handling of RAM, it can also provide security for the kernel.
It protects the kernel from being altered by a trojan that a hacker could have imbedded in the system.
However, this did not deter hackers from attacking the system on the downstream end. Sometimes they even come back stronger than ever.
This malware at the early stage in the boot segment is difficult to remove and if you are successful in removing it, you will end up obliterating the whole system because attackers often imbed bits that will destroy everything beyond repair.
Solution ? Get a sledge hammer and recycle the parts for melting.
Just an aside:
I heard China is building an all-electric car that will complete Tesla. With this, we can expect cars on the road made from our recycled hard drives.
Perhaps even RVs, don't you think? :-)
