Has Verizon contacted ANY Millenicom Customers yet?

I've read all the verbage on the subject up to date, but would like to know if ANYONE has been contacted by Verizon concerning this takeover and what has been said. Time is running out on switching to ATT and their double data plan if that needs to be done.

Not really interested in rehashing what happened in the past, just concerned what has transpired since the takeover. Thanks in advance.

  • Verizon does not have any kind of a Monopoly. Every service provider that locks their customers into a service contract has a contract the customer agreed to. Folks who loved Millenicom (you know, Verizon customers) but hate Verizon just make me smile. It's a smile that my DW says scares the he77 out of her but I simply cannot help myself.

To whom or by whom? There's no reason to believe that Verizon will continue to offer 20GB for $90 to "old" Millenicom customers. Why would they. They offer some good contract and non-contract plans for a variety of customers.
  • At the Millenicom website it is still set up for new accounts to sign up for all their plans so that has not changed.

Verizon does not offer a competitive plan when you have to pay 50% more to get half the data per month as compared to Millenicom. Verizon also forces customers to buy special devices for each plan. A pay as you go plan will not work with a subscription mifi or phone even after the contract period has ended.

Verizon wants to charge more and have a 100% monopoly over their customers and they want everyone on 4G as that is the most profitable for them. AT&T is playing the same game with roll outs next year of neighborhood 4G towers in Texas instead of providing DSL or broadband land line service.

Fortunately we will be able to end our Millenicom service at the end of this month and avoid having to deal with Verizon again. Verizon is infamous for overcharging its 4G data customers - check out their own user forum and read about customer experiences.
  • Curious as to why Verizon would want any part of Millenicom's responsibility when they already offer competitive products? People have the freedom to choose Fords or buy Edsel's.
  • I've been told by a person in the know, that there will not be any changes forthcoming in the near future.
  • A few more days I doubt it. Unless they are immediately changing the terms of the current agreements they won't be contacting you any time soon I'd guess....
  • The last word I saw, was that Verizon just got the Millenicom account lists on Thursday. It may take a few more days to integrate us into their system before they can contact us.
  • Let's just hope they contact us by email - snail mail won't catch up with us by the end of the month . . . .
