We finally started getting rid of all of our older desk top machines when the OS started to get old with no support from MS.
I have now replaced everything and we all have our on high end laptops which have the very fast motherboards and ram along with hugh TB hardrives. Can't imagine how I got along with the big old desktops over the years... Very Very good deals for us. Everything we have now is on WIN10.
Having the laptop is great as you just grab it and head out on your trips. You get to bring along everything with you. I love to take lots of photos and things and I have three or four ZIP drives I bring along on the trips... I am not a fan of small keyboard and finger mouse etc so I have a setup in my trailer with large external video monitors Keyboard and mouse along with speakers and the such... I simply just plug one or two cables into my laptop to bring all of the external hookups up..
The laptop with their internal batteries makes the laptop great to use when you are camping inside or outside. All you need to do is plug it in to re-charge over night...
I actually have dual 24-inch monitors in my OFF-ROAD trailer setup which gets used alot for WX Alerts and my Ham radio operations.. Laptops never get opened up except to turn them on.... I'm using dual 24-inch monitors here in the house as I am typing this out... My two laptops docking stations here at house is up on a self and I only touch the laptops when I turn them on or off... My dual monitors and Keyboards-speakers etc are here on my L-desk setup... With all of the HDMI stuff around I can actually route HDTV to one monitor while I am working on computer stuff on the other monitor.
