Have you seen the smart Airstreams?

Clicky

I wonder if they still only have one water pump switch?

I have Alexa and some light and fan controls in the house but I’m not sure if I want another level of complexity and stuff to keep up after in an RV.

Turning on the belly lights with my phone would be nice though.
  • A few years ago we stoped buying any appliance with digitized, computerized controls.
All we need on most appliances is on/off, timer, temperature.
The simpler the better, easier to fix.
This first happened when it was cheaper to buy a new A/C than getting the tiny control board replaced.
  • Not worried about it getting hacked. I am worried about cheap Lippert **** breaking and not being able to put on my Air or pull in my awning.
  • With the changes occuring in technology so fast these days, I don't think getting an RV with these kinds of bells and whistles is very practical. All you need is a forced update to the main device and bam! Nothing works.
  • Interesting to see how it’s implemented. I like technology. But if a single point failure means you can’t run your ac then not so good.

And what about 10-20 years down the road? Airstreams to me, mean if you take care of it and properly maintain it, it will last 20 years or more.

    Ask Chris Bryant.
  • Oh yeah, just what I want: extra added unneeded complexity. Two thumbs way...down.
  • Adding very complex systems to RV's scares me because they are generally made by Lippert and there's just some things you don't do cheap.
I will avoid things like Multiplexed lighting and slide controls as long as I can.
