McAfee as a brand is likely to cease to exist. Intel bought them out, so the brand has nothing to do with the man.
I do disagree with using more than one. Too many, and the AV programs start fighting with each other, especially as they all take turns opening every document or file you are using.
I tend to just use one utility, and every few years, change to a better one. Right now, Malwarebytes is top dog, as it can block not just stuff downloaded, but by malicious website IP, something which only Blue Coat's K9 does.
I also sandbox the Web browser, since that is the main cause of compromised computers. SandboxIE is an excellent tool. Takes some getting used to, but if the Web browser gets compromised, it won't take the rest of your files with it.
