For the Hopper 3, I'll let you know in a week when I test my H3 on a modified Travler.
However, I did test the new Dish Hybrid Pro Western Arc LNBF on my Travler connected to a Hopper with Sling (or "Hopper 2") -- it worked just fine. Details here.
Did you put the antenna up and down to see if it would lock on or was this down with the antenna up and locked on?
The Hopper 3 must be disconnected from the Travler when the Travler is in operation. Once the Travler has acquired the sats, the Hopper 3 can be reconnected. Using an AB switch makes it easy to connect/reconnect.
If the Hopper 3 is left connected while the Travler looks for sats, there's a good chance you'll get the Blue Screen of Death -- "No LNB Voltage".
