How many DVDs required for Windows 8 backup?

I've been going computer nuts over the past several weeks. First, an iPad and now a new Toshiba laptop with windows 8 OS. I want to back up the Toshiba while still new and would like to ask if any of you have done this using DVDs? If so, how many do you think I should have on hand? Thanks in advance......

    it depends on what else is installed beside windows 8. If it is a clean in stalled and you haven't added any files i would say 2-3 dvd's but it all depends on how many gb you have used up on your hard drive. a DVD will hold 4.4gb look at your hard drive and see how much is used up divide it by 4 to play it safe.

    I just did a preview of the Recovery Media Creator that comes with Win8 and it claims to need 3 DVD. You can also make a recovery USB stick it seems. This rebuilds your OS the way it came from the factory meaning you still need to backup/install any software that did not come with the laptop and of course any personal data.
