How to capture image info when it's mouse over

When I needed a pix to refer to in a post I'd go on line and simply copy the image info.

Now all the websites have switched all their images to mouse over and you can't copy the image link to the pix.

Is there a way to capture these darn things?

There are several free capture programs that will do this. I'm using one called Snap My Screen which gives the option of grabbing a screen, a window or a selection. It works fine, but I'm not sure if it's any better than any of the others - it's just the first one I came across when I needed one.
  • The Snipping Tool is part of Windows. In Win 7 go to Start > All Programs > Accessories. Or type "Snipping Tool" in the search box.
  • Sometimes if you just double click on image it will open window with image

I use this, too. It works great - easier than Print Screen and then editing. You can select only what you intend to snip.

x2. You can skip the mouse over. PrntScr captures the screen regardless of mouse position.
  • Later versions of Windows will need to try this. It still works at least up through XP.

This will capture the entire webpage you are looking at. I do this when I want to save a forum post that might inexplicably disappear. Or an generated online receipt. Or to, as I said, capture webpages to illustrate a point.

Then you can save the image to an online photo album, whatever.

Someone with Win 8 and 10 see if this is still available, or if they (Microsoft) continued on with the dumbing down of the operating systems.
  • The "correct" way is to link to the page the image is on. That way, you are not "stealing" the image for your own use, you are just telling folks where they can go look at it.

(that's my photography enthusiast copyright infringement is stealing response).

Sometimes, if you left click on the image, it will bring up the actual image in a new window and then you can right click to get the image link.
