Hughes Satellite vs. Verizon MiFi

We live in a rural area with no land line availability and require a wireless internet system. Because we live in a fringe area, cell signal is marginal, so we are looking at changing to a satellite inter-net provider. I am considering changing our internet provider, Verizon MiFi (4-G), to Hughes Net satellite. The Hughes sales person states that a 10-GB plan will give us more data than our current 15-GB plan with Verizon because of the way their system works(???). In other words, he states that you may use more of Verizon's availability to do the same thing as you would using the Hughes system (???). With regard to speed, I asked what the difference between their 10 mbps and the Verizon 4-G, and he did not know the difference and could not speculate on which one may be faster. I would appreciate any input you my have with regard to my unanswered questions and your thoughts about the switch.
  • I have Hughes Gen 4 and am in a rural area only reason I have it is I have no other options. I am around a lot of trees so my signal is not as good as it could be , when I am here by myself it works marginal, however when my family is all home using it gets verry slow, and frustrating.
  • Salesmans lips moving? More lies, 10Gb is 10Gb. It is all about $$$ per Gb. Oh and equipment cost.
