Bob - My Verizon 2200 MIFI is not a very fast thing. I believe my connections is only 50kbps and if downstreaming anything takes forever with lots of delays spurts...
For general use of checking emails, paying bills online, and some net surfing it is great and always works because it is Verizon...
Since I am totally surviving with the OTA Natl Broadcast Digital HDTV from the local towns we sometimes want to downstream some online TV stations... Does not work very good speed wise... I live in a rural area and very seldom get to any 4G locations where we like to camp... I doubt the 4G MIFI will be much of an increase for us...
Always looking at these different things some are coming up with... Back in the day we would use the Verizon AIR STICK plugged into a 3G Cradlepoint CTR350 Broadband Travel Router which gave us a pretty good secure WIFI hotspot for several of us workers. I don't remember the connection speed but it was good to use in our work modes.
I love using the Verizon small footprint stand alone MIFI unit. This part is great. I use mine in the WILSON Sleek docking station when inside the trailer but alot of time I will slip it in my shirt pocket so we can take along our tablets or small computers wandering around the various places. Great for sitting in our chairs watching the surf coming and going etc...
Still looking for something better. Right now I am using my Verizon 2200 MIFI grandfathered in at #27 a mo for a 3G dataplan... The 50Kbps connection speed is my killer I guess... My 100Mbps connection going thru my home cable modem is pretty good for downstreaming.
Not sure what to expect if I got the JETPACK 4620GTE 3G/4G system... Hopefully I could connect at much higher speed.
Probably a better unit out there to be using for downstreaming TV stations.
