I need a good free program for storing videos

My Kodak Easyshare wasn't the greatest but at least it put it on my hard drive. Since I don't have it anymore, my videos don't transfer from my camera when dumping everything to the hard drive to archive. I am using Picasa for the pics. Is there something I can do for my videos?

    You can't simply plug in your camera to your computer and transfer files?
