We are planning on replacing our failing GPS with an I-PAD Any sugestions-I understand the I-Pad has GPS built in-Thanks Rich

You do not need to download all the maps you have purchased, only the ones you need immediately and want to store on your Tablet or phone.
It looks like the prices have increased about $10 but there is a two for one sale going on.

You can use a downloaded GPS that does not use data so that is not a problem.

As for mounting, take a look at the various cup holder based mounts. No holes to drill or screws to leave marks.
