Import Word 2003 docs into Libre Office-how to?

I'm hearing more and more good things about Libre Office so may want to switch. What's the 'path'? Thanks. jim

  • File - Open - pick your Office 2003 file - there it is. Simple. Just like using Office 2003. If Open does not open to where your files are you can change the Libre preferences to your doc folder. Or you can just browse to the folder they are in right there in the "Open" window, and get the file you want to open.
  • You don't 'import' your old Word documents. You just tell the operating system to use Libre Office as the default program to open your .doc files. Just right click on a file, select Open With, then Choose Default Program.

You can install Libre Office but still keep Office 2k3 just in case.
