the ZING connects to the cell tower, you pay the phone company for the data service, by the month to whatever limit of your data service
the zing will use wifi to connect to PC
in other words if you had cable internet at home with a wifi modem, you used wifi to connect to cable (like in the coffe shop or campground) the house/coffee shop modem connected to cable
the zing connect via cellular to get internet, and gives that connection to your PC via wifi
