Thats not a metal screen room. BIG difference

For what it's worth...

Here at home we're 11 miles from the tower.
We have a small Toshiba in the kitchen with a pair of rabbit ears from an old, old TV.
We get a crystal clear picture but you can't swivel the antenna more than a few inches without losing the signal.

they also come in two or three sizes
the biggest one usually has the higher mileage reception number

But if you don't have an antenna. I have bought one of those indoor antennas that looks like an 8 x 10 sheet of cardboard.

The key is to buy one that says AMPLIFIED on the carton, AND look for 'how many miles' its good for. They are NOT all the same you have to read the small print on the carton.

I bought the one that was 'amplified' and 'good for 60 miles'. You stick it in a window that is facing where the nearest town for reception. I got about 7 channels in the MH.

I actually am using that same antenna right now in my Florida winter home and get 10 channels. And I am surrounded by trees, low and not near any towns and it's hanging 'on the wall' of a block home NOT a window.:W

You can always return it if it doesn't work for you. Wally world is good about that and I found they have the best selection of antennas to choose from. Just read the label first. Amplified and larger number of miles for reception.

this is the one I use.
MOHU Leaf Ultimate Antenna.
Amplified and good for 60 miles of the broadcast source.

Some considerations.. Many RV's have metal skins.. TV does not penetrate
Many have Fiberglass.. TV Does penetrate but there is some signal loss.

Many Indoor antennas are either "Omni-Directional" or Bi-Directrional,, Uni-Directional works best.

Finally.. And this is a biggie.... I have tested and proven this thory:
HEIGHT IS MIGHT. The higher the antenna (up to a point) the better it performs.> Even a few feet higher can make a BIG difference.

True story: This was on VHF radio (Between TV carrier channels Six and Seven)

I had just taken possession of a new toy, a Wilson WE-800 Ham Radio.. Fully synthesized I could transmit and recieve on any of 800 different frequencies between 146 MHz and 147.995 MHz inclusive. WITHOUT BUYING CRYSTALS (back then this was unheard of in a hand held)..

So I worked Downtown Detroit, Sixth St and Howard/Porter area.. And following A Tiger Night game,, Getting out of the company parking lot... Without a company car (State police) was not going to happen.

So I got in the Elevator and pushed the top button.

I'm pushing 1 watt of RF into one of those flexible "Rubber Duck" antennas so my Effective power out is in the range of a quarter watt.. or less.

Talking to folks in Toledo OH, via a repeater in Adrian, MI.

A VE3??? tries to join in (He's in Windsor prhaps 1-2 miles from me, I can actually see his house from the observation level of the bulding I'm in).

HE's pushng about 40 watts ERP at around 30 feet as I recall.. He's not making it.. I am. Height is might 160 times the Effective Radiated Power.. And he was not making it.....

Same is true on the receive end.

I'll save my money

Analog and digital on the same frequency are the same. However, the older tv and radio stations were on lower freequencies than the newer UHF stations now. Some of the newer antennas, (Sensar VI) are more receptive to the newer wavelengths. none (or very few) of the old analog channels are on the air now, so it doesn't make any difference.
