Installing a Smart TV as we speak... what next?

Ok Smart TV going in tonight. We can sync up with the blue tooth stereo receiver so we can watch TV and movies in surround sound. But how would I be able to use the full gamete of items? Get online satellite? Smart phone? I little technological ignorant here...so be nice.
