- I would not mount it!
We have a carry out. A portable application allows us to move it away from obstacles that can block the signal. eh fifty foot cord allows us to move the unit around to avoid that issue.
Mounted on the roof you are limited to receiving signal as dictated by parked location. - Dick_BExplorerX2 on the not mounting it. We have a dome on our roof and bought the G2 because too often we were parked with a tree in the way. Now we have a much better chance of getting a signal.
BTW in case the directions are not clear one only has to power the G2 until it finds its satellite; then the 12V power cord can be put away.
I plug it into the 12V socket in the car. - simple274ExplorerWhere did you get the 12v power source from?
- I added both a coaxial and a power feed under my hood. (gas rig)
Your rig is newer. Does it have a sat input in one of the compartments near the utility entrance? It could be near the park entrance coaxial cable.
My rig has a hot all the time light in the utility compartment. The sat dish does not draw much power so you could tap into an existing circuit. - 1492ModeratorMoved from Forum Technical Support
