Internet Wireless Booster Help?

I know this has been asked a million times but needing some clarification...

We have a Droid cell phone, a laptop, and a tablet.

We also have the Verizon service with a Verizon 890L-E290 4G hotspot with no ports.

We are looking for some such Wilson or other wireless antenna setup to gain extra bars when boondocking or with a low Verizon signal.

Many said get the cradle but that takes care of the phone but not the laptop and tablet if I'm correct. we were interested in a setup similar to RVSue but she has a hotspot with a port...we do not.

Can anyone explain what we need to set up in our Casita to give us more bars?

I have a Wilson booster and trucker antenna and inside antenna. This setup works great except when you are in Verizon extended network, such as US Cellular. here in WV. I was getting less than 1x. I and 2 other campers have filled a repair ticket to Verizon and two ticket later and several phone calls later, its now working fairly good. I still have a corp complaint in. Bottom line is nothing in nothing out. I would get 3-4 bars on my phone and wife smart phone even had 1x blink in and out, but the local US Cellular co would tell Verizon I had 3G. By the way the tower is 3-4 miles away, I was getting download say 012 MS and Upload .13 ms. Hope yours works better.

    Is your data roaming enabled?

sure is and even tried the wife smart phone as a hot spot and same results. Update I think all the data users are still in the bar or US Cellular did find a problem, ant way its better at this time. It took 3 weeks of whitching #######,just may be it will work better.

I even on advice of tech drove to Charleston to activate my air card.

  • I have one Wilson 4G-V Sleek and two 3G Sleeks. Great tech. I was looking at their antenna specs the other day on their website. The do have Yagi antennas that would increase the 3G signal. Not sure about a Yagi 4G antenna. I think the 4G antenna Yagi problem is the large variance in carrier frequency. Sprint, Verizon and AT&T all use different frequency.

We bought the Wilson Sleek online from Walmart.com. We then called Wilson and ordered the taller antenna and the window mount. Works great if you have a weak signal, boosting from 1 bar to 2-3 bars. It won't work if you have zero signal. We have used it in several places in the US and are very happy with it.

Sounds like exactly what we need. We are going to call Wilson and make sure the style of 4G Jetpack hotspot we have will work in the cradle along with our phone - it's the smaller square styled Jetpack, the newer ones are rectangular. And get the Sleek that comes with the accessories, especially the antenna to leave in the truck. I too was curious if a different additional larger antenna would increase even more bars if necessary. We'll check with them on a 2nd antenna for the window mount inside the camper. Thanks for your help. Finally understanding this....thanks!

Now what about the antenna setup...any suggestions on what you'd use. We have a fiberglass egg...

The Wilson Sleek V setup includes it's own antenna. That's all that should be used...
