Is this occurring using the same router? It's not unusual to see IP conflicts using DHCP, though not necessarily common. I would also power down the router, and let is sit for awhile before powering back up. Otherwise, your router firmware may be corrupt?
I also have a DELL XPS Ultrabook, and would check to make sure it is not effected by the just disclosed multiple DELL self signed root certificate vulnerabilities:
DSDTestProvider. Though believe an IP conflict is more related to the router itself.
I would just assign a static IP to the XPS as mentioned.
