IP address conflict
My Dell XPS laptop Win7 computer has been puking up "Windows has detected an IP address conflict" many times/day. Did some research, tried all the recommended fixes (ipconfig release..etc) nothing ...

This was driving me crazy on my Win 7 laptop until I turned off (un-checked) IPv6 in the properties for the wireless connection. Haven't had it pop up since.
And thanks to everyone for chiming in.
Oh, and the SSID of my hotspot is 'Virus', so I don't think too many folks will be trying to use it. Sometimes I'll change it to "McDonald's" and go in a store and see what happens. Well, not really.
