As mentioned, the adapter costs about $50 but works well. One thing I learned on mine is that if you download xfinity cable movies, while you can watch them on your Ipad by itself, if you plug in the ACMI adapter to watch them on your TV you will get an error saying not authorized on this device. Haven't had a similar problem with Amazon movies or any other movie source for that matter.
