iPad touch screen question.

I have an iPad air tablet and was wondering if the touch screen loses sensitivity over time. I find myself having to press a little harder or tap several times on a button to effect a change, especially on YouTube when I press the button to skip the ad.BTW, I'm not using a stylus, just my finger.
  • With no screen protector you should not loose touch sensitivity. As others have said, clean the screen, run disk utility and verify permissions, and also make sure your hard drive isn't close to being full.

No screen protector. True, I haven't cleaned it in a while.I've been somewhat neglectful since I haven't been "home in my RV for a while, where I have a cleaning solution. I'm temporarily in an assisted living ap't. I do power the unit completely off each night.I'll go ahead and give it a good cleaning. I'll also obtain a stylus and see if that helps (I've lost a few).
  • Sometimes if my fingers are really dry I have problems with touch screens.

Some people just have naturally moist skin if yours is dry that could be the problem.
  • I have had my i pad air for about a year and a half now. I have a cheap screen protector on mine and zero loss of sensitivity. And I use mine alot...for work sometimes several hours a day. My screen protector gets minimal cleaning...man I need to clean this thing:R
  • Generally no. Do you have a screen protector on it? When is the last time you cleaned the screen? When is the last time you did a complete power off?
