Wow and just Wow! If the station is going off the air but moving to VHF does that mean some other station bought it and will move their transmission to the freq?
The station facilities (different from the transmission facilities) that continue to exist will be paring up on the channels that remain, i.e. CBS Las Vegas sells off their license. They in turn will pair up with ABC and appear as a "dot" on that channel. Allot of those agreements are already done. This will mean the end of 1080i programming for allot of stations as its allot more profitable to broadcast several 720 streams vs. one or two 1080 streams on a single channel. I personally don't like it, but I'm not a bean counter.
