Not just them.
That is the latest trend in "customer NO-service".
It is especially frustrating with new routers, just for instance.

Well I bought this **** thing because my router failed......and until I get this new one going, I HAVE NO ACCESS TO THE INTERNET. DUH.

Stupid.

Using the remote, I once set the input option on the Channel settings on Air/Cable to Cable and couldn't get the channel search to work. After putting it back to Air, it all appeared.

Hopefully this is all it is.

Jensen like pretty much 100% of the old electronic device names does not make their own stuff. They simply LICENSE the name to be put on the lowest cost cheaply made import equipment.

Sometimes you get lucky and will get one that actually works or has a long life.

I spent quite a few years of my youth repairing consumer electronics back in the early 1980s and quit doing it in the late 1990s. I saw a drastic move from well built TVs, stereos which often had 10-15yr life BEFORE ever needing repaired to cheaply made stuff that barely was able to make it a month past the 90 day warranty..

Zenith was the last OLD BRAND NAME TV maker that built TVs from scratch in the US and they outsourced that many yrs ago..

Element brand (a newer name in TVs) is supposedly built in the US but even that does not mean it is better or will last.

A very dear friend of mine who also repaired consumer electronics (we worked for competing repair shops but we often swapped tips and help) pretty much summed up the current consumer electronics trend which started around late 1980s.. They are designed to be throw away and have a life of 3-4 yrs, IF you get more use than that then consider yourself lucky..

I cracked a cold one and began poking at buttons. It was one of the 8,786 settings! TV has to be on “TV” input.

Gdetrailer - I have owned stuff that needs the target practice treatment but I watch mebbe 2hrs a week of TV - so this unit will have to do... probly why I can’t run it :)

Before you do anything else, put a fresh battery in the remote.

And.....some 12 V models don't operate good if the input voltage is above 14.3 or so. Mine won't come on if the voltage is too high.

AHH.. Jensen, that name just OOOZES "quality".. NOT!

Tuner ROM most likely has taken a deep electron nap and most likely will never come back to life or you accidentally set a "parental" password to prevent changes.

Typically on most TVs there is no "reset" button to push or any way to clear and reset back to factory defaults via a push button. Pretty much all menu driven and if the menu is locked you are pretty much out of luck.

The ONLY thing I can think of is removing the 12V power for a couple of hrs then try again.

Barring that, yank the cheap thing out, throw it on the ground, drive over it a couple of times, shoot it, hang it then scoop up and put it in the nearest trash recepticle where it belonged in the first place.

There are far better TVs out there and Jensen brand is not worth morning over.

Skip the 12V stuff, buy a standard off the shelf 120V TV and a good brand 300W PSW inverter and never look back. You will be rewarded with far better picture, sound and life.

Can’t move via your remote or with buttons on TV? If by remote, have you changed the batteries? Have you completely shut down the TV, waited and repowered? How old is the Jensen?
