Junk/Bulk Mail

Good Morning,
I have 2 computers, a Windows Laptop, (windows7). Also a desk top Mac Os Sierra.

On my Windows OS every post shows up as bulk mail but it posts in the in box.
On my Mac computer not every post goes to the Junk Folder, but the majority does. Is there any rhyme or reason to this?

I use web mail; mot client mail, in fact the computer is complaining my "outlook settings are out of date" (Never set up) Both my Mail accounts do a good job of filtering bulk v/s desired E-mail.. Though I will admit a few get mis-filed on one account (on the other acdcoutn.. well it's most all "bluk" it's a fly trap.)

I use Yahoo mail, and in my inbox at the top of each email I can click if it is "spam" - and in the spam section, I can click if it is not spam. Is there anything like that with your system? I do always check my spam folder, though - you never know when something goes in there that shouldn't.

Regarding receiving from RVnet, I actually don't do that - I shut off email notifications... I just go to "My Forums" when I come here to see any new posts in threads that I participated in, then after going through that go to "Active" to see newest posts.

I don't know if this helped!

What mail program are you using on each?

I am using Apple Mail on my Mac.
And ThunderBird Mail on my Windows 7 Lap Top.

The reason I posted this here was I was not sure and the problem only occurs on RV.Net

I think it might be AT&T U-Verse Yahoo Mail :h

Thank you for putting this in the proper thread.
  • It could be the MUA (mail client), or it could be the MDA (mail server) which is doing the sorting/marking.

Without any detailed info on your setup, the MDA may be doing most of the work ("On my Mac computer not every post goes to the Junk Folder"), and the MUA the rest ("On my Windows OS every post shows up as bulk mail").

It's quite common for ISPs to do spam filtering on the email accounts they provide.
