If you are talking about the entire internet, then you can not compare anything to anyone at all. If you are going to do apples to apples, then do store to store, which CW is.
Also, yes, people sometimes want to see the quality of a sewere hose, a generator or an a/c unit. But that is not all they sell. I liked being able to go in and look at the shower heads and see the quality in person and compare it to others they had. I also like being able to go and be sure that I get the correct item for my RV. i.e. windshield covers. My 2013 RV is not listed in the windshield covers. But I was able to ask someone there about whether or not a certain one would fit and go out and put it on the RV to see if it fit. They told me if it didn't then I could return it. Much better than ordering something online and not knowing if you are getting the right thing or not. Plus returning something is much easier in person than online. Normally you will have to pay to ship it back.
Why do I have to do apples to apples? It's my money and I"m not in it to worry about CW bottom line. I worry about my bottom line.
Because you are comparing all of the internet to one store. If that is the case, then you should be purchasing everything off the internet.
Now you can go in and touch the 2 or 3 offerings that CW has to offer or you can check the reviews on a certain product and have many more offerings. To each his own.
Or I can check the reviews and go in and looked at our well stocked CW.
How is driving to a store easier then having UPS pick up my online return? You can return for free on Amazon. If not the cost of return shipping is usually equal to the gas money to drive to CW as well as my time.
CW is just 8 miles away from me. My car gets 37mpg. Half a gallon of gas there and back. I paid $3.40/gallon last night. So return shipping is less than $1.70? Do I need to be home for UPS to pick it up? Can I leave it on the porch? What if it rains and the package gets wet? What if someone else other than UPS picks it up? Same as having it delivered.
FYI, I ordered my shower head from Amazon based on reviews and love it. IT was cheaper then CW and they offer the same one.
I bought my oxygenics at CW. I picked it based upon recommendations here on the forum as well as the CW website. I went to my local CW to look at it as I couldn't find a local Amazon store. Guess what? They had other shower heads also! I used a $5 off coupon that was in the coupons for members and I used a $10 gift certificate. Brought down my price to under $20. Can't get that at Amazon. Just looked up the same one at
Amazon. $32.80 plus $10.20 to ship it! No free shipping or free prime shipping for that product through Amazon at all. Pulled it up on CW and it's $32.19 there. Shipping $9. And the $5 coupon is still there under the coupons.
Like you're going to know the quality difference between a Honda 2000 generator at CW and a Honda 2000 ordered from Bob's Generator shop. Ooops, that's right there is no difference. :R
I can look at the honda and the champion they have there and compare. I can look at the product in person. I can guage the quality of the product, the size of the product and compare right there.
If you like they way you do things, then have at it. I'm not here to change your mind as clearly people will stick with what they know regardless of cost. I'll just take the hundreds I saved and buy a new GPS or maybe put some gas in the coach.
But see, I live just 8 miles from a decently stocked CW.
I rarely trust the advice of some shelving stocker at CW as they have been proved to be wrong more often then not. I'll just research on the internet the correct part and then order it.
Because if it's on the internet, it's true! :R CW also has people behind a counter in the back. There are parts people and then there are service techs. If they don't know the answer or don't feel comfortable answering a question, they will have a mechanic to step inside to answer the question. At least, that is how they work in my CW.
