Because you are comparing all of the internet to one store. If that is the case, then you should be purchasing everything off the internet.
Seems prudent to me. Why wouldn't I compare it to the entire internet? You're a fool if you only shop between over priced retailers. I do purchase most things over the internet. The UPS/FED EX guys are at my home often and we're on a first name basis.
CW is just 8 miles away from me. My car gets 37mpg. Half a gallon of gas there and back. I paid $3.40/gallon last night. So return shipping is less than $1.70? Do I need to be home for UPS to pick it up? Can I leave it on the porch? What if it rains and the package gets wet? What if someone else other than UPS picks it up? Same as having it delivered.
Well lucky for you. CW is 30 miles from my house. SInce the majority of my purchases are from Amazon then YES my free return shipping is less then you're $1.70. No you don't need ot be home for UPS to pick up, even though I'm home when the UPS guys route brings him past my house. My porch has an overhang so my packages don't get wet. But a simple plastic bag would do. You can play what if's all day. What if while you're driving your return back to CW you have a car accident and die?
I bought my oxygenics at CW. I picked it based upon recommendations here on the forum as well as the CW website. I went to my local CW to look at it as I couldn't find a local Amazon store. Guess what? They had other shower heads also! I used a $5 off coupon that was in the coupons for members and I used a $10 gift certificate. Brought down my price to under $20. Can't get that at Amazon.
Haha, using gift certificate in an attempt to make CW look cheaper. If you don't like Amazon did you try ebay? Ooops found the same head with free shipping, no tax, no fuel for me to go pick up and no $25 to get a member price. Then of course you have to price match their internet price as their in store price is different.
I can look at the honda and the champion they have there and compare. I can look at the product in person. I can guage the quality of the product, the size of the product and compare right there.
Didn't realize they let you open them up to check the tolerances and machining on the cylinders or the quality of the wiring they us. Some things you just have to go on reputation.
But see, I live just 8 miles from a decently stocked CW.
I live 3 feet from a fully stocked internet that has GOBS more products then the limited camping world. Ever try to get awning spline from CW? Heck, it took 4 people before anyone knew what I was talking about about and then the answer was no. Took 2 minutes for me to find it on the internet.
Because if it's on the internet, it's true! :R CW also has people behind a counter in the back. There are parts people and then there are service techs. If they don't know the answer or don't feel comfortable answering a question, they will have a mechanic to step inside to answer the question. At least, that is how they work in my CW.
What kind of idiotic answer is that? There are plenty of forums, manuals, schematics that give great advice. Have you never learned how to repair anything from the internet? Heck I taught myself how to weld from the internet, fixed my washing machine and used the internet forums when I built my kit car. Just to name a few.
HAHA, you can't get past the stock shelving monkeys, let alone talk to a mechanic, even when you request to.. Took me 2 months to get a couple of little grommets from CW. THey couldn't find the Winnebago part number and Winnebago kept referring me back to them for the part number. Had to argue and argue with them to finally have them locate the part number. They didn't want to invest the time to locate the part # for a $5 part.
