Laptop computer

I'm thinking about getting a laptop computer. I'm on my 2nd desk top computer. It has Windows XP operating system. The new laptops have Windows 8 operating system. How difficult to learn is Windows 8. I basicly use my computer for web surfing and e-mail. I don't download music or movies. Thanks for any info.

    Since we got our iPads we rarely use our laptops or PCs anymore. The iPads are perfect for internet surfing and e-mail.

    Someone else will explain it better than I can, but you can downgrade or backgrade it so that you don't have to use Windows 8 if you don't want to. Windows 8 is fine if you want a touch screen, but I use two 24" monitors with my laptop and sometimes the laptop screen as a third monitor. For this type of setup, keeping your hands on the keyboard is a lot faster.
