Don't care for Apple's high priced proprietary closed business model. For the type of work I do Apple's are far too limited in software and hardware availability.
I do agree with the issues with MS. It irks me that MS has little interest in backwards compatibility. Numerous high end applications that run in XP will not work in 7 and even fewer in 10. Business rely on custom written software. It is costly to continually rewrite from scratch each time MS abandons their own technologies. Apple has done much of the same thing. Unix/Linux has the ability to run decades old software with only few tweeks and recompiling for modern processors.
