Lollipop available for Verizon Samsung S5's in the USA

For those that care, Lollipop is out. First thing that pleased me is now, thanks to Lollipop, I can have photos taken with the S5 saved to the external memory card and apps like QuickPic, ES File Explorer, can work with them, delete them, etc..
  • Yes, if you want it NOW, you have to go to you S5's "Settings" > "System Updates" and ask for it. If you wait for Verizon to automatically push it you may be waiting a week, month....

OH.... Forgot to mention in my first post, PdaNet+ is working aok with Lollipop on the S5.

Thanks for the info!! I will read up on it!
  • Lollipop seemed to make a bigger difference on my Nexus 7 tablet vs the Samsung S5. S5 Lollipop colors are now pastel. Need to change that. The first day battery power seemed to take a hit. Now back to normal. Google Chrome merged tabs and apps. Had to uncheck that. Also needed to restart the phone two or three times to get music/videos/Youtube to act normal. Behind the scenes it changes the Runtime. Not any real difference to the user.

There are two separate downloads to get Lollipop on the S5. Sprint S5 Lollipop should hit tomorrow.
  • I upgraded my 2012 Nexus 7 and wish I wouldn't have. It turned a speedy tablet into a slug. Everything takes longer now. I am sure it will get fixed with an upgrade, but right now my tablet is nowhere near as fast as it was before.
  • Those with a Samsung S5 and Verizon. New revision of Lollipop available today!
