Looking at Wireless Home Phone? Is it really portable???

I was at a Verizon Store and was ask about my home phone. I was quoted a wireless home phone for $20. a month with unlimited long distance. I was told that I could take it on vacation and have my hom...

depends by what you mean as 'replace'
portable as in movable to another location, site, county, state
Not mobile .. as put in your pocket and drive to the golf course

as previously stated
the home connect is portable but is a 'base' unit it does not fit in your pocket
it requires that you plug some form of 'residential' phone into the base unit

it is Not going to replace a 'cell' phone for on the go use

it is not going to go walking, bike riding, or shopping with you
or in your pocket at the doctors office
