If at a campsite, and looking for others in the area, I had thought it would be easier to use the same device for scouting the area roads on google maps or other programs for our next move. I Have a 5.5" moto G and a 10" android tablet, and can use either, but the ease of only needing one device from the table was the goal, also could see more detail hopefully.
15" laptop mainly for low level video editing and casual gaming or web surfing. Laptops I was looking at were almost all 4gb but upgradable to 8 or 16.
