I have kept all the tracking options off in our Google accounts, since we started with them. The options have grown over the years as well as where they put them. I try to limit what they supposedly track on me, but as you know, it's their software ;)

We have switched over to Google Docs and Sheets, for our word processor and spreadsheet needs. This is "free" and your only payment is that Google will deliver ads to you.
I am fully embedded with the Google ecosystem and am happy with trading some ads for an almost fully functional Word and Excel (and Outlook) replacement. To each their own. We are happy with the Google apps.
:) "Fully embedded with the Google ecosystem" fully describes me too.
Great apps, free except that Google knows all about me plus a timeline of where I've been. For me, that is an OK trade off. There are those that are not so trusting but it works for me. And Google's ecosystem includes cloud storage that, to me, is the world I want to live in with all of my stuff (1) available on all my devices and (2) fully backed up much better than I could do.
