Lenovo is a Chinese company but has a large US presence. You might want to understand a little more about it as a company since a good part of its PC development is US based. See Lenovo in the United States

I have a Lenovo laptop and desktop now, the last in a long line of PCs/laptops I have had of the Lenovo brand and IBM before that. I have never had any ill affects from the so called spyware that seems to be overblown in the articles I have seen. It's more likely that bios code put in to support maintenance had some unintended consequences. In any case, I have no concerns with Lenovo products.
