- fj12ryderExplorer IIIWhy not list your passwords in Excel or Open Office Calc and use the Sort function? That will list them alphabetically.

What do you mean by script? What exactly are trying to sort?
Thnks, Tom. I tried the app but it doesn't work according to my needs. When I tried to sort lines ascending, all the script disappeared.
By "script" I mean the words. I'm trying to alphabetize a list of passwords to make it easier to locate certain ones. I've also tried "Alphabetizer" recommended by another respondent. It puts the items in alphabetical order OK, but all in the same line horizontally. Makes it almost impossible to read. I want the items listed vertically, separated by a space. i'm probably asking too much. LOL - Tom_M1Explorer

Original file:
a
c
r
b
l
j
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop>sort /r file.txt
r
l
j
c
b
a
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop>sort file.txt

Select the output & copy it into a new file, or redirect the output to another file:
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop>sort file.txt > file2.txt

I'm not gonna worry about it. It isn't too important.
BTW, I once had this program on my computer. I was trying it out as a replacement for the standard notepad.

I use TextPad in place of WordPad. It's free and, though I haven't used it for sorting, according to the help docs, it says that it does sorting.
Well, I downloaded Textpad as you suggested and learning if it will suite my needs. It does look interesting, though. I joined their forum if I have any questions. Thanks. - mr__edExplorer

You didn't give many details, so I'm not sure what device you are looking for. If you are using an iphone, there is a great app called List Sort that will let you type in your list and then alphabetize it with options to bullet or number the items. It is a paid app (.99).
If you want someting you can use online- I like Alphabetizer. It is free and does a great job of sorting lists in all kinds of orders. You can then copy and paste into whatever program you are using.
If you are using an android device, you could check out this link: Best Android Apps for Alphabetical Sorting I don't have any experience with any of them.

With no specifics listed, I'll have to state the obvious: use Wordpad. :)
Wordpad doesn't give the option to sort contents alphabetically. I'll look into the suggestions the other respondents supplied. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIWith no specifics listed, I'll have to state the obvious: use Wordpad. :)
