Looking to boost cell signal for hotspot use

Is there anyway to boost my Verizon 4G cellphone signal so that I can use it as a hotspot while traveling, WITHOUT spending $300-$400 and drilling a hole?

Too many places I am barely getting 1 bar, not enough for reliable data over hotspot.

TIA

  • you can get the New wilson 'weBoost' sleek cradle for under $200
does all bands for all phones

you don't have to spend $400
but you do have too spend 'some $$'

and Don't buy the old one, it does not do the new XLTE bands
    that your phone is using
  • I have a verizon jetpack that I use for WiFi in my RV. The jetpack has connectors for an external antenna. I found an external antenna on amazon that is compatible with my Verizon 7730L jetpack and it works great, it cost me about $27 and I just mounted it inside my 5th wheel.

Now I get internet access almost anywhere I go, even when my verizon cell phones can't make a phone call.

Of course I had to buy the verizon jetpack and add it to my data plan, but I spend several months a year in the RV so it is well worth it for me.

Here is the external antenna that I use for my verizon 7730L jetpack:

    Jetpack antenna

Note this will NOT work on a cell phone, just the verizon 7730L jetpack.

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but it works well for me.
