for us it was a question of what do we really watch- most of the shows are on network channels (TIVO)the rest that was on Direct TV was a waste of our time, we don't watch sports, dislike the reality shows (expect Survivor) seen and lived all the DIY shows, don't cook or eat like Emeril. we average about 2-3 hours per day, news and a few shows in the evening. Netflix has some great shows to watch. so cutting the Direct TV cord for us was really easy. touch my internet and I'll kill ya ( just watched a few scenes from Stripes). LOL
