I second TiVo.. I use RePlay TV myself (A former competitor of TiVo, Took TiVo 3 generations to catch up with Replay so naturally.. Replay lost in the ratings battle, but hey. America's love affair with worst technology continues)
But the important thing for this thread is RePlay does everything TiVo does
So I have two RePlays (Used to have 3 wish I kept the 3rd) one in front room, one in back room.. I can record two shows at one tiem.. And If I wish I can play several shows at one time by playing one on the front Replay, one on the Rear and more on assorted computers with the horse power to play video (not all of my computers can do that). With a bit of 3rd party share-ware or donation ware I can download shows from the Replays (Which by the way use standard IDE drives) and store them, serve them back up or even "Import" shows from other media and serve them up. TiVo does all this since Gen 3.
