JIM - MR WIZARD I finally got into things and finally got to restore to a previous good restore point. All is back to normal now on my WIN10 machine.. I going thru the back doors pays off sometimes haha...
Of course i still don't know what caused the problem but the COMM PORTS and the AUDIO shon on the task bar had RED X's in them and could not find anyway to reset them...
Then playing aorund with WINDOWS mode I got it to go into safe mode and looked at afew things and finally saw where I could goto to the RESTORE place manually. Worked great and took awhile to restore back to to a previous point. Then it asked to RESTART... I crossed both fingers and it worked.. WOO HOO...
Then right away I see I am in SAFE MODE and still had both the COMM PORTS and AUDIO turned off... I had to get back into WINDOWS again and find the block that was checked showing to BOOT in safe mode. FInally found that and unchecked it...
All OK now with WIN10 machine...
I think I will not move everything back to the WIN10 just yet however. I'm up ok on WIN XP right now and doing ok...
Good learning experience for me for WIN10... They sure don't want the average user to find all of these places like the older WIN machines did...

NOTE: Two hours later and still OK after shutting down which downloaded a bunch of updates... Restarted back up just fine...
