Our MacBook Pro is 5 years old and still going strong. But once you go mac, you don't go back. We now have 2 iPads, an iPad mini (don't recommend that one), an IMac, MacBook Pro and 5 iPhones.
I find mac is more user friendly (though it will be different at first) and the lack of pop up windows is wonderful.
